Winners of Startup Weekend Zilina
Life writes funny stories. This weekend, Peter Hubina, Patrik Kozlík, and I arrived at Startup Weekend Žilina, planning to extend our MediBit work, only to learn that projects had to be submitted in advance and teams should be 6-8 people. A few hours later, we teamed up with five great people - Timea Klopčeková, Patricia Belickova, MBA, PhD., Šimon Andrejčák, Vadym Palchyk, and Mike Stratovych - and rallied around a brand-new concept. We decided to tackle early burnout prevention, a problem Gallup estimates costs companies $322B annually. In just 56 hours, we: - spoke with ~20 medium-to-large companies - built a functional MVP - mapped competitors and market size - shaped a business model and GTM strategy We built a proactive, end-to-end solution that estimates burnout risk before it escalates by combining language patterns in employee communications, workload signals, and lightweight self-reported questionnaires and then turns those insights into clear recommendations and early interventions for managers and HR, helping people recover faster while protecting team performance and margins. Huge kudos to the organizers, judges, and amazing mentors for the guidance and time 🙏. And of course, thank you to the entire team - met on Friday night, on the podium two days later 🚀.
Hackathon Winning Project
During the hackathon, we designed a system that simplifies, speeds up, and above all, makes the administrative work of event organizers in Revúca more efficient. It offers a wide range of tools, including digital management of applications, reservations, and payment processing. We also considered the needs of vendors, providing them with a user-friendly application management system and the ability to easily verify participation through a generated QR code.
